ASPR Awards $1.4 Billion to Develop Future COVID-19 Therapies

The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) on Tuesday awarded more than $1.4 billion for Project NextGen to support the development of a new generation of tools and technologies to protect against COVID-19.

The awards include $1 billion to BARDA’s Clinical Studies Network to speed the development of new COVID-19 vaccine candidates and $326 million to Regeneron to support the development of a next-generation monoclonal antibody for COVID-19 prevention.

ASPR also awarded $100 million to Global Health Investment Corp. to develop new technologies to streamline manufacturing processes. Through this funding, ASPR aims to accelerating development timelines across the board and bolstering future vaccine and therapeutic availability.
