• Program Description

  Implementation of any new version of the Donor History Questionnaire can be challenging, but implementation of the historic, new donor eligibility criteria using individual risk-based questions to reduce the risk of HIV transmission can be especially daunting. Join the chair of the Donor History Task Force as she walks you through the significant changes in the new HIV guidance document and how they have been incorporated into the DHQ v4.0. Descriptions of tools and resources available, challenges, and success stories will be included.

  Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss FDA’s May 2023 Guidance and other regulatory considerations and how they are incorporated into DHQ v4.0 formally recognized by the FDA.
  • List tools and resources available from AABB to assist blood collection facilities with implementation of DHQ v4.0.
