The 2023 AABB Annual Meeting will feature new content and features. Here are some of highlights of new content attendees can expect at this year’s meeting.

Abstract “Spotlight” Sessions

A completely new session type for 2023, these 90-minute sessions will feature renowned experts in the field as they discuss current issues and the "state of the science” on a select topic with selected abstract authors. These sessions will include:

  • A “Spotlight” on 30 years of REDS – hosted by Dr. Michael Busch
  • A “Spotlight on the Rapidly Changing Field of Biotherapies – hosted by Dr. Donald Siegel
  • A CEO panel – featuring Dr. Graham Sher and Mr. David Green

Live Curated Poster Tours

Enjoy curated tours of select top scientific posters in person during the meeting. Previously held during the virtual meetings in 2021 and 2022, they will be held in person for the first time in 2023.

Tours will take place Sunday, Oct. 15, and Monday, Oct. 16. Each will consist of a brief overview of the selected abstract posters by the author, followed by a short question-and-answer period between the tour moderator, abstract author and audience.

Biotherapies Pavilion and Networking Space

New to the exhibit hall this year will be a dedicated space for biotherapies attendees and exhibitors to connect. There will also be a dedicated networking space within the exhibit hall for attendees to meet together or with exhibitors.

AABB Foundation Run for Research

The Run for Research looks different this year! Join us as we run at your pace through historic Nashville, allowing you to experience up close the cultural, historical and architectural highlights of Music City! Registration fees support innovative research and the careers of future leaders in transfusion medicine and biotherapies.

AABB Reception – A Party with a Purpose

Kick off the 2023 AABB Annual Meeting with colleagues while supporting the AABB Foundation. Open to all Annual Meeting attendees who make an AABB Foundation donation this year, this party is sure to be a fun and informal social event. Get excited to attend this event live for the first time from 6:00pm – 7:30pm on Friday, Oct. 13.
